About Us

Vision

To see our local communities heal and thrive by providing benevolent relief to people in distress due to poverty, sickness, violence, and other social injustices.

Waves of Kindness

Bringing change and hope to those in need.

Waves of Kindness is a local charity with the Sunshine Coast’s biggest Opp shop.  Our store is more than just a place to shop, every purchase helps support local programs and people in need, with funds raised going back into the community.

This is how

We Help Members Of Our Community:

  • Our Opp shops offer affordable shopping for everyone and provide a supportive and social space for our amazing team of volunteers to connect and make a difference.

  • Our dedicated Care Team provides personalised support and referrals to help individuals access essential social and material resources.  To further enhance our impact, we regularly host visiting staff from key agencies such as Centrelink, the Department of Housing, TURSA, and Carer Gateway.

  • Our Emergency Relief provides financial and material assistance to vulnerable community members experiencing financial hardship, homelessness, family and domestic violence and health challenges.

  • We provide household goods to people who are getting back on their feet after experiencing homelessness.  This includes individuals and families coming from tough situations like long-term homelessness or escaping domestic violence.

  • Our Brekky Club, in partnership with Foodbank QLD, provides breakfast essentials to 11 local schools, ensuring no child starts the school day hungry.

  • Supporting Fun Football Noosa an all-inclusive opportunity for school age children to participate in sport, fostering good relationships and community connections.

  • Providing support and resources to a range of community members and organisations:

    • Noosa Flexi School Keys for Freedom Program
    • Sunshine Beach State High Wellness Programs
    • Salvations Army Safe Car Park
    • Youturn Tiny houses
  • Board Directors and Members of Waves of Kindness are volunteers and not remunerated.
